Mundane life never suited Haze. While he enjoys breaks between excursions, the allure of discovery is one he can never resist. Haze is drawn in by the unique thrill and desire to see precisely where the line between what he can handle and what goes beyond his limits truly is.Of all the job types, investigating individuals deemed as dangerous is his favorite simply because they make him curious. He considers the task different from mercenary work or bounty hunting since oftentimes it ends with him bargaining to keep what he learns to himself. Some might call it blackmail; he prefers to view it as the beginning of a budding friendship.

Ever curious, Haze enjoys getting to know others who pique his interest. He is quite nosy and tends to prod even if it isn't any of his business, favoring pestering the more reticent ones. He loves to instigate and see what kind of reactions he gets. He can't help the playful, albeit antagonistic, jabs and quips from slipping past his lips.Haze's heart is bigger than he'd like to admit and his stubborn loyalty lands him in more trouble than it's worth. He finds it hard to turn his back on someone in a dire situation, but that won't stop him from complaining about it while helping.He likes to appear as an open book in many regards, but, in truth, he has torn out countless pages to bury in the grave of his past. Few are privy to learning of his upbringing or his true feelings beneath the surface. He'd gladly share tales of triumphs or tribulations on a job, yet he rarely utters his true name.

Haze stands at just over six fulms. He keeps balanced between being muscular enough to haul what, or whom, he needs and nimble enough to flee when it goes wrong.He is left-handed, though, when asked to forge, he does so with his right. Haze has an Ishgardian accent and isn't keen on it being pointed out.Over the years, Haze has accumulated a variety of scars. The most predominant are gashes on his jaw, inner thigh, lower back, and shoulder blade. It isn't hard to discern that he was on the wrong end of a sharp object.For those who are particularly observant, Haze has a slight limp due to an injury to his right knee that becomes more prominent if he is exhausted or physically strained. Aetherically, he is levin aspected.

» It'll be fun, they said. Haze is easily tempted by thrills and discovery. Unfortunately for him, this means he is also easily roped into some dangerous games.
» A place to rest your weary head. While it might not be the safest move on his end, Haze sometimes lets those like him seeking a safe haven stay with him temporarily. Granted, that doesn't protect them from his curiosity.
» "Stop right there!" No one can count on a clean getaway all the time. If you're part of the law or a bounty hunter, perhaps a witness recounts seeing the knave nearby at the time of the crime, or the 'guy you know' sends you in Haze's direction for an insider's perspective. Heck, maybe old rumors of past jobs are resurfacing.
» We both know what we know. Whether you heard it on the wind or from someone close, either way, you heard it: Haze knows something about you that you don't want getting out. How you keep him quiet is up to you.
» "I heard you could help." He doesn't openly advertise, but his occupational skills are muttered about along the cobbled walls of desolate alleys. It isn't uncommon for someone to approach him with a request no matter how odd it might be.
» Two hires, one job. Well isn't it an awkward yet amusing surprise to find out that you and someone else have both been hired to do the same task? Will they team up and share or compete and sabotage: guess we'll find out.
.Reputation and Rumors.
Haze's reputation is not always accurate to how he is and some of what has been heard might contradict other rumors. Part of this is done on purpose by him to keep people guessing. Feel free to use any of the following if it would make sense for your character to know.
» "The bastard is completely unhinged. One moment he's chatting up a bloke and the next he's riling him up to fight." Haze is known for being unpredictable and a wild card. It's said he is antagonistic and nonchalant about causing offense to anyone he crosses paths with.
» "Didn't he help that one guy who got cornered by some loan sharks?" Haze has stepped in to help people in need on many occasions, especially when the odds are not in their favor. Although some say he has to be in a charitable mood, other's say you just have to sell him a good sob story or that he'll just jump in all on his own.
» "He and his group can clean out any place. I hear they've pulled off heists that no one else could dream of doing." Haze is known for being with a small group of thieves and con artists known as the Blessed Bastards. They've successfully robbed some of the heaviest guarded estates and events in Ishgard and Ul'dah.
» "Quickblade, huh? Yeah, I've seen the way he fights, wouldn't want to get caught up with him." Haze earned his epitaph through blood and steel. He is known for being quick, agile, and precise. His fighting style is unique and he's a worthy opponent to go up against for even the best of scrappers.
» "Aren't they all dead? The Blessed Bastards I mean." While this rumor isn't as common to hear, especially outside of the underground realm, there hasn't been any news of new jobs the group has pulled off in quite some time. Hells, nobody has seen anyone from that group other than Haze in nearly 12 moons.

In Game: If I do not have the RP tag on, I am not ic. If you see me in-game, feel free to say hey. If I don't respond to something, I either missed it or wasn't looking at my screen.
Looking For: Darker, mature, storylines, adventure, and plot. I prefer to make long-lasting connections. I find giving characters a purpose to encounter one another is helpful, so I like to discuss set-ups and ideas prior to any roleplay. If romance happens, it happens. I like to let that brew naturally.I also enjoy ooc banter about characters, even if it's not rp'd, not canon, or just 'what-if' situations to think about. Don't be afraid to throw random thoughts and musings my way. I'll likely find them entertaining.
RP Style: I typically post in past tense and around a paragraph in length unless it is a scene set up or a moment where a shorter response is fitting. I tend to adjust my posts depending on my partner and what is necessary. In-game I do shorter posts for pacing.I am fine with a majority of topics, scenes, language, and gory descriptions. I favor low-power or mid-power characters, but I am down for high-powered characters as long as their OPness doesn't take away from scenes or completely negate challenges.I am also down for DMing scenes more like a play-by-post campaign. I tend to not fully take over scenes in that way unless I am sure my partner is alright with it. So if it's good for you then just let me know.
Availability: I am available most EST afternoons and evenings. I like to plan ahead since I usually am logging on for a reason. I prefer discord, especially for longer or heavy plot scenes since we can respond when convenient, but I can do some in-game as well. Currently, due to my schedule, I am only really able to do discord roleplay.

» Don't expect ERP: I will erp when my character has ic reasons to be down to clown. I won't force it to happen due to ooc desires. If you are only interested in erp or have that as your sole end goal, I am not the right rp partner for you.
» Basic roleplay courtesies are a must. A major one is the ability to keep ic and ooc separate. I am not my character's actions, beliefs, or choices.
» I am not a strict follower of lore. Creative liberties are fun and the way SE has done up their lore so far supports almost anything. I have taken certain creative liberties with my character that I can point to the foundation in lore and where I built off of it if that is something important to you.
» I am not currently interested in roleplaying with those who are playing major NPCs or relatives of, playing the MSQ WoL (a WoL is fine), etc. Nothing against those who play them, I actually love seeing them, but it's just not my current desire to tie Haze into MSQ in any way.
» Please tell me if any topics or scenes would make you uncomfortable so that I can avoid anything potentially upsetting beforehand or, if during, we can have the pizza guy ring the doorbell for a hot delivery of deus ex machina.

» Haze's weapons: a short gun and a dagger attached to a long, metal chain. His epithet, "The Quickblade", came about from the precision and speed at which he can wield the chain dagger. (Look up rope dart for a visual reference of how he'd use his weapon.)
» For those who can sense aether: Haze's leans toward lightning/levin aspected.
» Haze can manipulate aether to cast magic; however, other than lightning, he tends to either use it for insignificant things or in short bursts due to the toll it takes on him from improper casting.
» This man cannot cook. Do not leave him unchaperoned in a kitchen.
» While Haze enjoys jokingly flirting or teasing, he is actually quite dense when it comes to someone being serious about taking an interest in him. He assumes everyone is joking too.
» His default coping mechanism is to tease or make jokes.
» He has a moderate threshold for pain but a high tolerance. He is incredibly resilient which has allowed him to survive for as long as he has.
